Mickey Horton & Maggie Simmons

Suffering memory loss from a stroke, Mickey Horton stumbled onto Maggie Simmons' farm. Maggie was lonely and crippled and gladly took him in. They believed his name was "Marty Hanson" due to the initials on his belt buckle. They lived happily together on the farm and were married. It wasn't until Maggie decided to have surgery on her legs that "Marty" realized he was really "Mickey" and that he already had a wife, Laura. Even though the surgery was successful, Maggie was still unable to walk due to a mental paralysis. Mickey divorced Laura, returned to the farm with Maggie and they remarried.

Their marriage took a turn for the worse when Mickey was locked up in a sanitarium for a year after attempting to kill his brother, Bill. Maggie finally made a complete recovery and stood by Mickey's side. Eventually, Mickey was released. They decided that since he was sterile they would adopt. Ultimately, the child they adopted was returned to her biological mother (Maggie's battle with alcohol addiction was a contributing factor). Next, Maggie became a surrogate for an anonymous donor. Maggie and Mickey adopted the baby after both of her parents died.

Things were finally going smoothly for the couple until Stefano DeMira kidnapped Mickey and faked his death. Don Craig began spending time with Maggie and the two became close. Mickey escaped Stefano's grasp only to find his wife professing her love to another man. Maggie and Mickey divorced, but Maggie felt it was a mistake and broke things off with Don.

It wasn't until Mickey was accidentally shot in a gang fight and Maggie took him to her house to recuperate that their love was renewed. They remarried on Valentine's Day in a double ceremony with Melissa Anderson and Pete Jannings. They have managed to remain a solid couple and stand by their family through all of their various trial and tribulations.
